Your Dog’s Comfort

The design of the OneTigris Hoppy Camper Dog Pack aims to make your dog happy when he is wearing it. There is an anti-slip mesh lining that’s lightweight and offers good breathability. Padding helps to make the backpack sit comfortably against your dog’s body. The pockets are neat and close to your dog’s sides, so they shouldn’t impede his movements or snag on obstacles. Excess lengths of straps can be securely tucked away, reducing snagging hazards. The two adjustable straps provide plenty of opportunity to ensure a correct fit, and they are also padded.

Adjustable Straps

There are two adjustable straps on the OneTigris Hoppy Camper Dog Pack. One goes across the front around your dog’s neck and one underneath. Your dog’s head goes through the opening between the neck strap and the body of the backpack. Run the girth strap under your dog’s body and secure it with the buckle. Pull the chest strap tight enough to fit comfortably and tuck any excess strap away with a ‘hook and loop strap keeper’. The girth strap also has an elastic strap keeper to keep any excess neat.

Materials and Durability

The OneTigris Hoppy Camper Dog Pack is mainly made of high-density cotton canvas. The buckles are tough Duraflex plastic, and the D-rings for attaching the leash are stainless steel. The seams have reinforced stitching to increase durability.

Any dirt or mud on the hard-wearing canvas can usually be brushed off when dry, but you can also hand wash the dog backpack with cold water and air dry.

As well as looking good, the OneTigris Hoppy Camper Dog Pack is well-designed to be very durable. The backpack fits close to your dog’s body, and the practical materials and strong stitching mean it should last a long time.

Handles

A handle on the top of the backpack runs parallel to your dog’s spine. It is well-stitched into the OneTigris Hoppy Camper Dog Pack’s main body and is padded in the middle. The handle is 5 inches (13 cm) long. While this is a sturdy handle, it is not designed for lifting your dog, just to provide guidance and assistance over obstacles.

Leash Attachment Points

There are two leash attachment points on the OneTigris Hoppy Camper Dog Pack, one at each end of the handle. They are stainless steel D-rings well stitched onto canvas loops. They have been tested to a pull strength of 330lb/150kg.

Features

One of the popular features of the OneTigris Hoppy Camper Dog Pack is the storage supplies for excess staps. On the one going under your dog’s belly, an ‘elastic strap keeper’ can be slid along the strap to keep things neat. The strap around the front of your dog’s chest has a slightly more elaborate ‘hook and loop strap keeper’.

You have a choice of five colors when buying the OneTigris Hoppy Camper Dog Pack – black, brown, grey, olive, or green. While they all look good, the brown was a classic, vintage look and is our favorite.

Pockets

There are two main pockets on the OneTigris Hoppy Camper Dog Pack, one on each side, secured with dual-way zippers across the top. On the outside of each main pocket is a smaller flatter pocket with a flap for speedy access. Some thought needs to be given to organizing the saddlebags so they are more or less the same weight on each side to keep the load balanced so they don’t slip to one side.

Storage Capacity

The two main pockets on the OneTigris Hoppy Camper Dog Pack are not the largest, but they are big enough to get two 750ml bottles of water in. They are suitable for carrying the essentials for a day hike but not big enough for everything you need for backpacking. These are the dimensions of the pockets:

You must be careful not to overload your dog, especially if you have older or younger dogs. The recommendation from Tigris is that 10% to 12% of their body weight is a good starting point. You should never ask a dog to carry more than 25% of its body weight. Remember to include the backpack’s weight when calculating how much to load on your dog. The OneTigris Hoppy Camper Dog Pack comes in two sizes – medium and large. This dog backpack is aimed at larger breeds such as Alaskans, Samoyeds, and German Shepherds. Three measurements are supplied to ensure you get the right size for your dog. The neck measurement is taken around the base of your dog’s neck near the shoulders, while the girth measurement is measured at the widest point behind the front legs. The back measurement should allow at least two inches from your dog’s tail.

The OneTigris Hoppy Camper Dog Pack is a very reasonable price. While it is not the cheapest dog backpack, it is at the lower end of the price range. It is a well-made, high-quality product that looks great and should last a long time, so you get great value for money.
